WISH interns and students come to Washington DC from across the country and
around the world. Residents are introduced to each other at the WISH Welcome
Reception so you get to meet the people who will be working alongside you.
Our clean, well-furnished housing locations are on Capitol Hill, with tree-lined
streets, brick sidewalks and history around every corner. We will show you
around—where to buy groceries, Metro stations, shopping areas and great places
to eat. Moving in is easy—just bring your clothes, computer and the basics and,
except for mom’s cooking, we provide the rest. See locations map
Our housing is within walking distance of the U.S. Capitol, House and Senate offices,
Supreme Court, Library of Congress and Metro stations (Union Station, Capitol South
and Eastern Market). Many Georgetown University Law Center students choose
housing in The Congressional across from the U.S. Supreme Court and other historic
buildings on the Senate side of Capitol Hill, close to the Law Center.
WISH Woodley Park is an alternative to Capitol Hill living, located in Northwest Washington, DC, two blocks from the Woodley Park Metro and the National Zoo.
WISH works with many colleges and universities here and abroad and with graduate students from all disciplines. We rent furnished housing by the semester or year to
academic programs that seek a presence in Washington, DC, as well as individual
students working in Washington and exploring their career independently.

There are two basic living arrangements:
- Apartments: Houses 2 - 6 interns and have single or shared bedrooms.
- Town homes or row houses: Shared or private rooms and shared common spaces.
Semester rates are based on living arrangements and number of months in the
semester. For each intern, this rent covers fully furnished living space, utilities, house-
hold goods (light bulbs, kitchen and dinner ware), laundry facilities, iron/ironing board,
cable TV and wireless internet access.
In place of a formal lease, students must complete and sign an application and supply
two personal references, a $200 processing fee, and a $200 fully refundable deposit.
If full semester payment is not made prior to move-in, we require first and last month's
rent up front and the remainder within 30 days.
